Creating assessments
Exams, quizzes, live quizzes, assignments, projects and keyboarding tests, from draft to published.
Kinds of assessment
| Kind | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Exam / quiz | A timed test students take on the exam page with an exam code, Student ID and PIN. |
| Live quiz | A game-style quiz you host in class: one question at a time, with a leaderboard. |
| Assignment | Take-home work turned in as a written answer and/or files by a due date. |
| Project | An assignment graded with a rubric, with an optional or required video link. |
| Keyboarding test | A typing test scored on speed and accuracy. |
Build an exam
- 1Open Assessment in the sidebar (or a class page) and create a new assessment for the class.
- 2Set the title, instructions, duration, and when it opens and closes.
- 3Add sections (Test I, Test II, ...) and questions. You can write them, import them, or generate them with AI.
- 4Choose the exam security settings you want.
- 5Link it to a class record column so finalized scores go straight into the class record.
- 6Publish. Students can take it once it opens.
Let students in
- Every exam has an exam code. Students enter it with their Student ID and PIN at qyubie.com/exam.
- Show the join screen in class: it displays the code and a QR code that fills the code in for students.
- Students using the mobile app can start the exam from the activity in the app.
Use Preview & Print to print a questionnaire with your school's header, or download it as a PDF.
Note: Deleting an assessment moves it to the trash. Students' work is kept until you delete it permanently from the trash.
